BREAKDOWN: Korri Ennis, 6-foot-0, 180-pound redshirt sophomore point guard begins his first season with the men's program. He earned a spot on the team at the open tryout held on Oct. 17. He played collegiately at UC Riverside as a freshman in 2007, before transferring to Florida A&M and then to USC.
2008-09: Transferred to USC and did not go out for the basketball team. He spent the season focusing on his studies and playing on the scout team which practiced with the USC women's team.
2007-08: Transferred to Florida A&M to play basketball, but after their coach was let go before the season he decided to just concentrate on his schooling for the year.
2006-07: His only season at UC Riverside where he appeared in 29 games and averaged 1.6 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.7 assists. Had a season high of eight points twice, first vs. Eastern Illinois on November 11 and then at UC Irvine on Jan. 18. His only start was at UTEP on January 2 and had two rebounds in 18 minutes. Played a season-high 19 minutes in the games at San Diego State on November 21 and at Long Beach State on January 20. He made 13 of 44 field goals (29.5 percent) and made 19 of 23 free throws (82.6 percent).
HIGH SCHOOL: He attended Brandon High in Brandon, Fla. where he was a four-year letter-winner for coach Mark J. Hermann. Ennis helped lead Brandon to a 92-14 record and four district championships, while running the school's streak to eight consecutive titles. He lists his most thrilling sports moment as scoring 41 points in a game during his senior season. He was named district Player of the Year in 2006 and won the Golden Eagle Award in 2006 for the highest academic standing for a student-athlete in Hillsboro County. He had a 4.9 GPA (on a scale of 5.0) and was the editor in chief of his high school yearbook.
PERSONAL: Korri Demetrius Ennis was born on February 11, 1988 in Brandon, Fla. He is the son of Oliver and Valerie Ennis and has one sister, Kelli. His cousin Katrina Collecton played at Maryland and played for the Los Angeles Sparks and Miami Sol. Says his biggest sports heroes are Michael Jordan and Katrina Collecton. He lists the toughest persons he has competed against as Joey and Stephen Graham who both have played basketball professionally. His favorite foods are pizza, chicken and waffles. Says that one thing he has always wanted to do is sky dive. Said after graduation he would like to sleep. He is a member of the Black Business Student Association. He is a Business Administration and Accounting major at USC.
