USC Baseball to Begin Annual Cardinal and Gold Series on Friday

    USC baseball is set to begin its annual Cardinal and Gold series on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Dedeaux Field. This year the series will be five games, taking place Oct. 31-Nov. 2 and then Nov. 7 and Nov. 8.

    Game one is set for a 3:45 p.m. first pitch today (Oct. 31). The pitching matchup will be junior right-hander Kyle Davis (Garden Grove, Calif./Pacifica HS) throwing for Gold vs. junior lefty Kyle Twomey (Placentia, Calif./El Dorado HS) for Cardinal.

    Game two on Saturday, Nov. 1 will start at 12:30 p.m. PT. Junior college transfer Tyler Gilbert (Santa Cruz, Calif./Santa Barbara City College) will go for Cardinal against sophomore lefty Bernardo Flores (Baldwin Park, Calif./Baldwin Park HS) for Gold.

    Rounding out the weekend will be a 12:30 p.m. start on Sunday, Nov. 2 for game three. Junior righty Brooks Kriske (Palm Desert, Calif./Palm Desert HS) will start for the Cardinal squad vs. freshman right-hander Mason Perryman (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield HS) for Gold.

    Times and starters for games four and five will be announced at a later date.
