    Trojan Alum Nick Buss Earns Triple-A All-Star Game Start

    LOS ANGELES - Trojan alum Nick Buss is tearing up the Triple-A Pacific Coast League for the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Los Angeles Dodgers Triple-A affiliate, and for his efforts earned the selection as the starting left fielder in the Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday evening in Reno, Nev.

    Buss, who has been going by his middle name of Chili, is batting .292 with 71 RBI, 12 home runs, 10 triples and 19 doubles through 88 games for the 56-42 Isotopes. The outfielder is near the top of nearly every offensive category and holds the number one spot in triples (10), home runs (12), RBI (71), total bases (162) and games played (88).

    In the All-Star Game, Buss went 1-for-4, but the Pacific Coast League team fell to the International League All-Stars, 4-3.

    Buss was the eighth round selection (247th overall) by the Dodgers in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft after his junior season at Troy.

    Another Trojan alum, Grant Green also made the PCL All-Star team as a member of the Sacramento River Cats, the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A's, but he made his major league debut on July 8 with the A's in Pittsburgh.
