LOS ANGELES -- Former USC pitcher Rik Currier (Dana Point/Capistrano Valley HS) will be inducted into the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame in November as a member of the 2006 class.

Currier enjoyed two All-Star seasons for the Chatham A's, going 5-2 with a 2.37 ERA in 1998 and posting a perfect 7-0 mark in 1999 with a sparkling 1.34 ERA. He was named Co-Outstanding Pitcher of the Year in 1999 and also selected to midseason and final All-Star teams.

As a Trojan, Currier posted a 38-14 career record and made three trips to the College World Series, including USC's 12th and most recent national championship in 1998. He made two starts in the 1998 CWS, including a key eight-inning performance against Mississippi State where he struck out 12 batters.

The two-time All-American is tied for third all-time at USC in victories (38) and set the school and then-Pac-10 record (broken this season by Washington's Tim Lincecum) for career strikeouts with 449.
