    LOS ANGELES -- USC shortstop Grant Green (Anaheim Hills/Canyon HS) was named 2007 Pac-10 Conference Co-Freshman of the Year as the all-conference team was released Wednesday. Green joins Anthony Lunetta (2000) and Jeff Clement (2003) as members of the USC baseball program who have received the honor.

    In 53 games this season, Green leads the Trojans with a .325 batting average. He has 13 doubles, 10 triples, two home runs, 24 RBI and six stolen bases. He broke the school single-season record with his ninth triple and is in the top three nationally for triples per game (0.19 average).

    He has hit safely in 24 of his last 26 games and has recorded only two errors in his last 21 games.

    Green earned All-Pac-10 honorable mention recognition along with teammates Brad Boxberger, Matt Cusick, Hector Estrella and Paul Koss.
