Baseball Hosts Stanford for a Three Game Series

    LOS ANGELES - The top two teams in college baseball will meet this weekend at Dedeaux Field when No. 1 Stanford visits No. 2 USC for a three-game series. Friday's game is at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday are at 1 p.m.

    The Trojans are 27-6 overall and 13-2 in the Pacific-10 Conference Southern Division. The Cardinal is 25-4-1 and 10-2 in the Six-Pac.

    The highlight could be on Friday night, when two of the top pitchers in the nation match up: USC senior RHP Seth Etherton (8-0, 2.44 ERA) against Stanford junior RHP Jeff Austin (8-0, 1.75).

    On Saturday, the scheduled pitching matchup is Trojan junior RHP Mike Penney (5-1, 3.56) vs. Cardinal RHP Chad Hutchinson (5-2, 5.36). On Sunday, it's USC freshman RHP Rik Currier (3-0, 3.38) against Stanford junior LHP Brent Hoard (2-1, 5.35).

    General admission tickets are $4 at the gate.
