Trojan Baseball Readying for Season; Alumni Game Sunday|

LOS ANGELES - USC baseball is one step closer to their season opener next Friday, February 15, 2013 at Cal State Fullerton with the upcoming annual banquet and Alumni Game on Sunday, February 10.
Approximately 125 Trojan alums are scheduled to attend Sunday's alumni game, highlighted by current major leaguer Brad Boxberger and former greats like Ron Fairly. The day will also be a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1963 NCAA championship team. The "old timers" are scheduled to hit the mound against the current Trojans at 2 p.m. on Sunday, with the younger alums facing off with the team at 3:30 p.m.
The 2013 Trojans were picked to finish tied for the eighth in the Pac-12 by a vote of the conference coaches, it was announced today by the conference office. USC received 32 points in the poll, tying with Washington State. Stanford was picked to win the conference, followed by UCLA and Oregon State rounding out the top three. Stanford received all but three first place votes, with Oregon State collecting the final three. Oregon was picked fourth, followed by reigning NCAA champs Arizona, Arizona State at sixth and California at seventh with 40 points. Finishing behind the Trojans was Washington picked 10th and Utah eleventh.
The 2013 season kicks off for the Trojans on Friday, February 15 at 7 p.m. PT at Cal State Fullerton. The Trojans remain on the road at Cal State Bakersfield of Saturday, with the home opener at Dedeaux Field scheduled for Sunday, February 17 vs. Nebraska at 1 p.m. PT.
