Oropesa Named 2011 Preseason All-American By Baseball America|

LOS ANGELES -- Junior first baseman Ricky Oropesa (Rancho Cucamonga/Etiwanda HS) earned 2011 Baseball America Preseason All-America first team honors as the teams were announced today. He adds his Baseball America honor to his 2011 Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America second team honor as announced by Collegiate Baseball.
Oropesa led the Trojans in the triple crown categories last season with a .353 batting average, 20 home runs and 67 RBI. He also hit 22 doubles, recorded a .711 slugging percentage and led the team with seven stolen bases as he earned Baseball America All-America second team honors.
USC opens the 2011 season by hosting a tournament (Feb. 18-20) that will feature Cal Poly, Missouri and North Carolina at Dedeaux Field.
