LOS ANGELES - The top three home run hitters in the USC baseball team's lineup -- senior LF Jason Lane, junior C Eric Munson and senior 2B Dominic Correa -- hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the second inning to highlight the No. 16 Trojans' regular-season finale, a 17-6 rout of Washington in a Pacific-10 Conference game on Sunday afternoon at Dedeaux Field.

USC ends the regular season with a 33-23 overall record and a 17-7 Pac-10 mark, good for second place. NCAA Regional play begins on May 28. Washington (32-21, 12-12) still has three non-conference games left.

The Trojans pounded Washington's ace, junior RHP Jeff Heaverlo (10-3). He went five innings and gave up 13 hits, 12 runs and one walk while striking out seven. USC sophomore RHP Rik Currier (5-6) started and went 5 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts and gave up eight hits, two walks and five runs (four earned) in the win.

USC tied a season high by scoring 17 runs. Six players had three hits for the Trojans: Lane (3-for-5 and four RBI), Munson (3-for-6 and two RBI), Correa (3-for-4 and three RBI), sophomore SS Seth Davidson (3-for-5 and three RBI), freshman 3B Beau Craig (3-for-4 and one RBI) and junior 1B Justin Gemoll (3-for-4).

After Davidson hit a two-run double in the bottom of the second to make it 4-1, Lane hit a high blast over the left-field wall, Munson homered off the scoreboard in right field and Correa just barely got a fly ball over the left-field wall to make it 8-1. It was Lane's 19th home run of the season (tying him for No. 5 on USC's single-season list) and the 12th each for Munson and Correa.

Washington made it 8-5 with four runs in the top of the third, but USC kept scoring, getting one run in bottom of the fifth and four runs in both the sixth and seventh innings.

The Trojans took two of three games from the Huskies over the weekend.
