CORVALLIS, Ore. - The No. 10 Trojans came back from a 2-0 deficit to eventually tie things up, but fell in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the ninth to drop game two 3-2 at Goss Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Beavers (26-13, 9-8) jumped out to a 2-0 lead, plating a run in the bottom of the first and another in the bottom of the third off Trojan (30-11, 11-6) starter Kyle Twomey (Placentia, Calif./El Dorado HS), who eventually settled in and held the Beavers to just the two runs on four hits through seven complete innings of work. He got the no-decision in the loss.

In the top of the sixth inning the Trojans got to Beaver starter Drew Rasmussen, touching up the right-hander with four-straight singles to plate two runs in the top of the sixth inning. Timmy Robinson (Huntington Beach, Calif./Ocean View HS) and Dante Flores (Norwalk, Calif./St. John Bosco HS) each drove in a run.

The Trojans had opportunities with base runners in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings, but were unable to plate the go-ahead run. Overall the Trojans stranded eight base runners to the Beavers' four.

Marc Huberman (Los Angeles, Calif./Hamilton HS) entered in the eighth in relief of Twomey and put up a zero. However, in the ninth inning he walked the leadoff batter Dane Lund after a great battle and then a sac bunt by Jeff Hendrix put the runner in scoring position. After intentionally walking K.J. Harrison to set up the double play, Kyle Davis (Garden Grove, Calif./Pacifica HS) entered to face pinch hitter Billy King. King singled through the right side on the 3-2 offering from Davis to bring home the game-winning run.

Bobby Stahel (Needles, Calif./Palos Verdes HS) saw his 22-game hitting streak snapped as he went 0-for-5 on the day. The hitting streak was the longest for the Trojans since 2012.

The Trojans and the Beavers will meet in the rubber match of the series at 1:05 p.m. PT tomorrow afternoon at Goss Stadium.
