LOS ANGELES - The No. 10 Trojans found themselves in a 7-0 hole after the second inning and never recovered, eventually falling 15-4 to the visiting Oregon Ducks on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the series is now even at one game apiece and the Trojans fall to 28-10, 9-5 in the Pac-12, while the Ducks advance to 23-17, 5-9 in the conference.

Trojan starter Kyle Twomey (Placentia, Calif./El Dorado HS) was not his usual strong self in the start, only going an inning and two-thirds, allowing seven runs (only two earned) on five hits, while walking two and striking out three. He also was uncharacteristically wild, hitting three batters.

After getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the top of the first, the Ducks touched up Twomey for seven runs in the top of the second inning, as a costly error ended up coming back to haunt the Trojans, as four runs came around to score with two down. Overall the Ducks' seven runs came on five hits. With two down and a runner on second, Bernardo Flores (Baldwin Park, Calif./Baldwin Park HS) entered to record the final out and get the Trojans out of the inning.

The Ducks added runs in the top of the third and top of the sixth to pull out to a 9-0 lead before the Trojans got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning.

With one down in the sixth, Bobby Stahel (Needles, Calif./Palos Verdes HS) singled to extend his team-high hitting streak to 20 games. Stahel then scored on a single by Garrett Stubbs (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) and an error by the right fielder as the ball went under his glove. Stubbs advanced to third on the error and was plated by a single from Jeremy Martinez (Fountain Valley, Calif./Mater Dei HS) to make it 9-2.

The Trojans added one more in the bottom of the seventh off starter David Peterson, as AJ Ramirez (Phoenix, Ariz./Bakersfield Christian HS) led off the inning with a double, stole third base and came home on a hard-hit comebacker by Angelo La Bruna (La Canada, Calif./Duke) that squared up Peterson on the shin to end his day.

With the score 9-3, the Ducks touched up Trojan reliever Jeff Paschke (Santa Barbara, Calif./Santa Barbara HS) for four runs in the top of the eighth inning before he was pulled after 1.2 innings of work. Alex Chavarria (Coachella, Calif./Indio HS) entered with nobody out and the bases loaded to minimize the damage, only giving up one run of his own, but the Ducks' lead ballooned to 14-3.

The Trojans added one in the bottom of the seventh off Ducks reliever Trent Paddon, as pinch hitter Adalberto Carrillo (Santa Ana, Calif./Tustin HS) drove in fellow pinch hitter Joe Corrigan (Santa Monica, Calif./Harvard-Westlake HS) who singled with one out and advanced to second on a wild pitch.

The Ducks got one more in the top of the ninth inning and the Trojans were retired in order in the bottom of the ninth to drop game two of the series 15-4.

The Trojans and Ducks will meet a 1 p.m. tomorrow (Sunday) in the rubber match at Dedeaux Field.
