    LOS ANGELES - Freshman All-America candidate Joey Metropoulos hit a two-run homer to left to snap a 3-3 tie Tuesday and the USC Trojans recorded an 8-4 non-conference win against the Loyola Marymount Lions at Dedeaux Field.

    USC improves to 21-16 overall while Loyola Marymount falls to 16-22 on the season.

    Cory Campos (2-1) went five innings, allowing one run on two hits, to get the win for the Trojans. Campos struck out the side in the ninth.

    Third baseman Alberto Concepcion hit a two-run double in the third while first baseman Bill Peavey extended his hitting streak to 11 games, going 2-for-4 on the night.

    The Trojans will travel to Washington State for a Pac-10 Conference series beginning on Friday (April 19) at 6 p.m. with 1 p.m. start times on Saturday (April 20) and Sunday (April 21). All three games will be broadcast live on www.usctrojans.com.
