LOS ANGELES - California reliever Jesse Ingram struck out Michael Moon in the ninth with runners at first and second as the Golden Bears secured the 4-2 Pac-10 Conference victory against the USC Trojans at Dedeaux Field. The Golden Bears snapped an 11-game losing streak at Dedeaux Field, dating back to the 1996 season.

California is now 18-19 overall and 5-5 in the Pac-10 while USC falls to 15-16 overall and 2-2 in conference.

Adam Gold (6-3) earned the win for the Golden Bears, going 6 1/3 innings and allowing two runs on five hits. Gold struck out eight and walked four batters.

Ian Kennedy (4-2) went 6 2/3 innings for the Trojans and allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out nine and walking two. The freshman No. 1 starter for USC struck out the side twice, accomplishing the feat in the second and sixth innings.

Ingram threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings to get his sixth save of the season.

David Nicholson singled off Kennedy in the first, advancing to third on a wild pitch and scoring on another wild pitch for a 1-0 Cal lead. The Golden Bears added another run in the third on an RBI double by catcher Chris Grossman.

Senior Michael Moon helped the Trojans in the sixth with his fourth home run of the season, leading off with a solo shot to right. Cal came back, however, with a run in the seventh when shortstop Jeff Dragicevich scored on a sacrifice fly by first baseman Allen Craig. Dragicevich led off the inning with a double down the left field line and advanced to third on a heads-up play when no one was covering third base after Brett Munster popped up a bunt attempt in foul territory behind home plate for the out.

Moon added an RBI single in the seventh for the Trojans. USC had runners at first and third with one out, but Ingram came in to close the door as Jeff Clement grounded into a 4-6-3 double play to protect a 4-2 lead.
