LOS ANGELES - Sophomore C Eric Munson and senior LF Jeremy Freitas had three hits each to lead the No. 3 USC baseball team to a 6-4 victory over Loyola Marymount in a nonconference game on Tuesday night at Dedeaux Field.
The Trojans improved to 20-5 overall, while the Lions fell to 13-10-1.

USC trailed, 3-2, entering the bottom of the sixth inning but scored three runs to take a 5-3 lead. With one out, senior 3B Morgan Ensberg singled and moved to third on a single by Freitas. After an RBI groundout by junior RF Brad Ticehurst, freshman SS Seth Davidson knocked an RBI single to center field.
The Lions closed to within one run, 5-4, in the top of the seventh on a solo home run by senior 3B Kevin Gustorf, but the Trojans got it back in the bottom half of the inning when senior CF Jeff DePippo led off with a double and scored on a single by Munson.
Junior RHP Steve Immel (1-0) got the win for USC in relief, while senior RHP Jack Krawczyk earned his ninth save. Four Trojan pitchers struck out a season-high 14 batters. Freshman RHP Chris Gray (0-1), the starter, took the loss for LMU.
