Feb. 18, 1998
FULLERTON, Calif. - The No. 3 USC baseball team edged Cal State Fullerton, 3-2, on Wednesday night in Fullerton as Jeff DePippo's RBI single in the top of the seventh broke a 2-2 tie. DePippo knocked home Jason Lane, who had singled earlier in the inning. Lane was also the winning pitcher, throwing three innings in relief without allowing a walk or a hit and striking out two. Jack Krawczyk earned his fourth save of the season and the 30th of his career, putting him just one away from tying the Pac-10 career record. USC scored two runs in the top of the first on a two-run homer by Eric Munson, his fourth of the year. The Titans tied the score, 2-2, in the bottom of the fourth. USC, which improves to 8-2, hosts Arizona this weekend at Dedeaux Field. Friday's game is at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday's games are at 1 p.m.
