2009
As a freshman, he made four starts in 18 games...had a 3-4 record with a 3.40 ERA and one save...in 45 innings, he allowed 51 hits with 17 earned runs, 16 walks and 38 strikeouts...opponents hit .273 against him...did not allow an earned run in his final four appearances (5 1/3 innings)...threw two scoreless innings on May 16 against Stanford...made a start at No. 1 UC Irvine and allowed just one run on two hits in six innings of work...picked up his first collegiate save on April 18 at No. 14 Oregon State with one no-hit inning...struck out a season-high seven batters in a win against Brown on March 25, going eight innings and allowed three runs (one earned) on six hits with two walks...earned his first collegiate win on March 14 against Winthrop with 1 2/3 innings, allowing a run on two hits with a walk and three strikeouts...made his collegiate debut on Feb. 25 against Pepperdine, making his first start in the midweek game.

High under head coach Frank Mutz...earned Los Angeles Daily News, Ventura County Star and All-Marmonte League first team honors in his senior season after going 8-1 with a 2.00 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 60 innings...member of the Marmonte League champions in his junior and senior seasons...posted a 1.77 ERA in 35 2/3 innings as a junior, allowing 21 hits with four walks and 37 strikeouts for the squad that finished No. 5 in the nation...went 4-0 in 18 innings with a 0.84 ERA and 12 strikeouts as a sophomore...during the summer of 2008, he pitched for the Wenatchee Apple Sox of the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League and had a 1-2 record with a 3.96 ERA (13 appearances, two starts, two saves, 25 IP, 21 H, 15 BB, 30 SO, .221 opponents' batting average).
