2009
Sherrod made 31 starts in 37 games as a freshman...he batted .296 (34-for-115) with seven doubles and 11 RBI...did not record an error in 61 chances...recorded his first career four-hit game, going 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI on May 23 at California... went 3-for-5 in a 9-3 win on April 29 at No. 6 Cal State Fullerton...hit a two-run double in the ninth to help USC defeat No. 14 Oregon State on April 18 in Corvallis and set up a 9-2 double play in the bottom of the ninth on April 19 to send the game into extra innings...went 3-for-4 on April 11 against Oregon, his first career three-hit performance...his first collegiate hit came on March 23 against UCLA...made his collegiate debut on Feb. 22 against Long Beach State, going 0-for-2 at the plate.

Summer
He played for the North Coast Knights of the Prospect League...in 20 games, he batted .170 (9-for-53) with three RBI...went 1-0 as a pitcher with a 1.71 ERA...in seven appearances, he made two starts and pitched 21 innings...allowed 22 hits with seven walks and 17 strikeouts.

High School
He was a four-year varsity letterwinner at Walton High School in Marietta, Ga., under coach Shane Amos...batted .396 with five home runs in his senior season...member of the 6A state championship squad in his junior season and state runners-up in his senior season...named CABA World Series most valuable player as a pitcher and most valuable player as a pitcher and outfielder the following year...hit a grand slam to help lead the East Cobb Astros to the Pony World Series championship.
