2002: Sidelined through the first month and a half of his 2002 junior season with a sore right elbow and went 4-2 with a 3.44 ERA...earned All-Pac-10 honors...selected in the 13th round by the Detroit Tigers in the amateur draft...has 232 career strikeouts, good for 16th place on USC's all-time list...his 43 career starts place him eighth all-time at USC...made his first appearance on March 17 at Pepperdine, throwing one inning and allowing two walks...went eight innings on May 10 in a 4-1 win against Washington, allowing one run on six hits with no walks and season-high eight strikeouts...threw seven innings on April 26 vs. Arizona and allowed one earned run on eight hits with no walks and six strikeouts...earned Baseball America Preseason All-America first team and Collegiate Baseball Preseason All-America first team honors.
2001: Reyes served as the team's No. 3 starter again in his 2001 sophomore season...went 5-4 with a 3.72 ERA...made 16 starts in 19 appearances (109 IP, 111 H, 25 BB, 97 SO)...pitched well in the latter part of the season...was 4-0 in his last four starts with a 0.27 ERA before his College World Series appearance...allowed only two runs (one earned) in his last 33 innings during that stretch...threw his first career shutout with a three-hitter against Fresno State on May 27 in the NCAA Regional (8-0 win), garnering him All-Regional Team honors (9 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 10 SO)...allowed only six hits in seven scoreless innings on May 20 at Oregon State...threw his first complete game and struck out a career-high 12 batters on May 14 in a 5-1 win against Washington State at Dedeaux Field...
2000: Reyes spent the season as the team's No. 3 starter in his 2000 freshman season...named to the All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention list...recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings on June 14 against Florida State at the College World Series...had nine strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings on May 21 at Washington...struck out eight in six innings on April 30 vs. No. 3 Arizona State (4-3 win)...had his longest start of the season with 8 1/3 innings on April 16 at California, striking out nine batters...did not allow an earned run in back-to-back starts vs. Washington State (March 26) and at Arizona (April 2).
HIGH SCHOOL: Reyes earned Del Rey League Co-Pitcher of the Year honors as a 1999 senior at California High in Whittier, Calif., as he went 7-1 with 1.61 ERA...was twice (1998-99) named to the Whittier Daily News All-Area team, making the second team as a senior and honorable mention as a junior...was a two-time (1998-99) All-Del Rey League first teamer, including his junior year in which he went 4-1 with a 1.05 ERA and four saves...helped California to league titles his final two years...played one season of football...was also an honor roll student at California...was an all-star in the 1998 Area Code Games with the 310 Dodgers...also played in the California North-South series.
