2003: Olson can contribute as a starter or reliever and will be an important part of the pitching staff this season.

2002: In his 2002 junior season, Olson made eight starts in 19 appearances and had a 3-2 record with a 6.48 ERA and two saves...threw 5 2/3 innings and did not allow a run in the first four innings on June 3 to earn the victory in the NCAA First-Round Regional final against BYU...picked up the win with 3 1/3 innings of no-hit relief with four walks and one strikeout on May 18 at Arizona State in a 9-5 win...earned his first win of the season in an April 9 start at Cal State Fullerton (6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 4 SO)...pitched four scoreless innings of relief on March 5 at UC Irvine.
2001: Olson battled arm problems with tendonitis in his left elbow early, but bounced back to become a valuable part of the bullpen in his 2001 sophomore season...went 2-1 with a 5.06 ERA...made 21 appearances (26 2/3 IP, 30 H, 20 BB, 24 SO)...recorded the win on May 26 in the NCAA Regional against Pepperdine with an inning in relief in the 4-3 win...threw two no-hit innings against Long Beach State on May 15...recorded his lone win of the season with 2 2/3 scoreless innings (1 H, 1 BB, 4 SO) on Feb. 21 against Pepperdine...threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing only one hit, on Feb. 18 at UCLA.
HIGH SCHOOL: He was a two-time (1998-1999) All-American at Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta...earned first team all-state, All-CIF and all-area honors...named Los Angeles Times and Los Angeles Daily News Pitcher of the Year in his senior season...two-time Glendale News Press all-area most valuable player.
PERSONAL: Majoring in sociology...enjoys golfing and playing chess in his spare time...lists his father, Dan, as his biggest hero...his grandfather, Roger, served as a vice president at USC while his father is a USC graduate who briefly pitched for the Trojans...birthdate is Feb. 19, 1981.
