2013/SOPHOMORE: Nootbaar appeared in 20 games for the Trojans, mostly out of the bullpen, but made four starts on the season...Struck out 38 in 47.2 innings of work and finished with three saves, a 2-6 record and a 5.10 ERA...Earned his first win of the year on Feb. 20 vs. Loyola Marymount when he threw a hitless inning in relief...In his first start of the season, he tallied an impressive career-high 12 strikeouts in six complete innings of work at Fresno State (March 2)...His strikeout total was the most by any Trojan since 2011 and he struck out every Bulldog hitter at least once...Second-highest strikeout total on the season came in a strong relief outing vs. Arizona State (April 14), where he threw 3.0 innings, striking out five and not allowing a hit in the victory...Threw his first-career complete game shutout vs. Washington State on May 12, scattering seven hits over nine innings of work, striking out three and walking three in the 11-0 victory... Got his first career victory at Washington State (3/30) after throwing 2.0 innings of shutout baseball in relief, as the Trojans won 15-10. Also tallied two strikeouts in the victory ...
