    2003: McAndrews will be the Trojans' starting center fielder this season, but can play all three outfield positions.

    MIKE GILLESPIE SAYS: "Travis had a solid year for us as a junior. He had a very good summer and has established himself as the starter in center field for us. He is a very good defender and the expectation is that he will be a good offensive player with occasional power."

    2002: McAndrews played in 51 games in his 2002 junior season, making 31 starts and batting .324 (44-for-136) with three home runs and 28 RBI...hit his second grand slam of the season in a key seven-run fourth inning on June 3 against BYU in the NCAA First-Round Regional final, earning All-Tournament team honors...on March 18 at San Diego State, McAndrews hit a pinch-hit, three-run homer to break a tie in the seventh in the Trojans' 8-6 win...hit a grand slam against Notre Dame on March 9 at the Express College Classic in Round Rock, Texas...was the first Trojan to hit a grand slam since Brian Barre on Feb. 3, 2001, vs. Louisville.

    JUNIOR COLLEGE: He earned 2001 All-American honors at Los Angeles Harbor College in Wilmington, Calif...batted .413 as a sophomore with nine home runs, 52 RBI and 23 stolen bases, leading the team in batting average, hits and on-base percentage (.479)...also earned first team all-conference, All-Southern California and all-state honors in his sophomore season...led his team to a 36-8-1 record in his sophomore season, including the conference championship with a 20-4 mark...batted .354 with five home runs, 46 RBI and nine stolen bases in his freshman season.

    HIGH SCHOOL: He earned 1999 All-CIF, all-area and all-league honors at El Segundo (Calif.) High...played with former USC player Alberto Concepcion...in one game, hit two back-to-back home runs with Concepcion...also played as a wide receiver and safety on the football team...member of the honor roll all four years.
