    Summer
    He played with the SoCal Fire, an independent team that reached the championship semifinals of the 2006 NBC World Series in Wichita, Kansas...went 4-1 with a 3.10 ERA and one save...in 29 innings, he walked 12 and struck out 30 batters.

    2006
    In his 2006 sophomore season, Martlaro made 17 appearances and one start...had a 1-1 record with a 3.86 ERA...in 16 1/3 innings, he allowed 14 hits, 12 runs (seven earned), walked 10 and struck out 12 with opponents hitting .233 against him...did not allow a run in seven straight appearances (7.0 innings pitched, Feb. 25-April 13)...earned his lone win of the season on April 13 at No. 13 Arizona State with 1 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and recording one strikeout...made his first collegiate start on April 18 at UC Irvine, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits in four innings.

    Although he did not play early in his 2005 freshman season, Martlaro contributed late with a 2.25 ERA in nine appearances...in 12 innings, he allowed eight hits, three earned runs, five walks and eight strikeouts with a .195 opponents' batting average...threw two innings and allowed two hits, four runs (all unearned) with a walk and strikeout on June 11 at Oregon State in the NCAA Super Regional...threw two scoreless innings and allowed one hit on May 25 against No. 11 Long Beach State in a 5-4 win...his longest stint of the season came on May 17 at Notre Dame with three innings as he allowed one run on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts...struck out the side on May 14 against Washington State in the Trojans' 15-3 victory..during the summer as a member with the league champion Wenatchee AppleSox of the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League, he went 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA and four saves...in 24 innings, he allowed just nine hits, six earned runs, walked 16 and struck out 30 batters with a .117 opponents' batting average...earned all-league first team honors.

    He earned Serra League Pitcher of the Year honors in his senior season at Bishop Amat High in La Puente, Calif., with a 2.16 ERA and batting .347 with six home runs.
