He was a three-year varsity letterwinner at Robinson High in Fairfax, Va., under coach Bill Evers...earned all-district, all-league and all-city first team honors as a senior after hitting .320 with five home runs and 20 RBI while going 7-1 on the mound with a 1.09 ERA and two saves...member of the district championship squads in his junior and senior seasons...earned all-district first team and all-region second team honors in his junior season...batted .390 with five home runs and 26 RBI while going 7-3 on the mound in his junior season...earned all-district second team honors as a pitcher in his sophomore season...member of the honor roll.
