    Hankerd earned his first All-Pac-10 selection after leading the Trojans with a .383 batting average (88-for-230) with 10 home runs and 55 RBI...started the season with a bang at the plate, opening with an 11-game hitting streak...hit a home run in four straight games from April 25-29, becoming the first Trojan to do so since Justin Gemoll (April 1-7, 2000)...had 15 doubles, a triple and two stolen bases...registered 26 multi-hit games, including 11 three-hit performances and two games with four hits (Feb. 7 at UC Riverside and March 7 vs. UC Irvine)...named Most Outstanding Player at the Public Storage Baseball Classic at Dedeaux Field after batting .571 (8-for-14) with two doubles and four RBI...in four games for the week of Feb. 7-12, Hankerd batted .556 (10-for-18) with eight RBI to earn his first Pac-10 Conference Player of the Week honor...on Feb. 7 at UC Riverside, he went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI and capped the week on Feb. 12 against Florida International with a 3-for-5 day that included two home runs and four RBI.

    Hankerd was a member of the Newport Gulls squad that won the 2005 New England Collegiate Baseball League championship...he earned NECBL Most Valuable Player honors after batting .383 (44-for-115) with nine home runs and 36 RBI...his nine home runs were tied for the most in the league...went 12-for-24 (.500) with two home runs and five RBI for the Gulls in their six playoff games.

    In his 2005 sophomore season, Hankerd batted .298 (65-for-218) with a home run and 39 RBI...his 39 RBI were second-best on the team behind Jeff Clement...also had 14 doubles and three triples...on April 12 against No. 2 Cal State Fullerton, he hit a bases-loaded triple with two outs in the eighth for USC's 4-2 win...earned most valuable player honors at the OCYSF-UC Irvine Tournament (March 18-20) after going 7-for-11 (.636) with two doubles and six RBI...on March 18 vs. Nevada, he went 3-for-4 with two RBI and added a 2-for-3, three RBI performance on March 20 against host UC Irvine...recorded a 3-for-5 game with a double, triple and three RBI on March 1 against UC Riverside...hit a bases-loaded triple on Feb. 13 against No. 17 Long Beach State.
