Cesar Gomez joins the USC baseball coaching staff this year as an undergraduate assistant coach. He played in five career games for the Trojans. He transferred from Pepperdine prior to the 1998 season, where he worked on the support staff. Last year, he played in four games as a reserve infielder in his senior season.
Gomez, 22, is a graduate of Don Bosco High in Rosemead, Calif., where he played for the varsity baseball team for three seasons and was an honor student there as well.
His brother, Camilo, was on the USC baseball team from 1995-98 and his mother, Susie, works at USC in the health center. Gomez graduated with a degree in public policy and management at USC and plans on becoming a financial analyst.
