After missing the 2008 season, Gemoll gives the Trojans a senior leader in the clubhouse and can play in the infield or outfield.

Gemoll appeared in 26 games and made 14 starts in his first year at USC as a 2007 junior...he batted .317 (19-for-60) with 11 RBI and two stolen bases...primarily used as a designated hitter, but also started at first base and left field...went 2-for-4 with a season-high three RBI on May 23 at UC Santa Barbara...had a 3-for-4 day with a double and RBI on April 29 against Washington State...had a modest four-game hitting streak twice during the season.
At the College of San Mateo, Gemoll earned All-Coast Conference first team and All-NorCal Selection honors as a 2006 sophomore...batted .427 (67-for-157) with 17 doubles, 37 RBI and 16 stolen bases...his batting average was the fifth-best in the state.
He appeared in three games at Stanford in his 2005 freshman season before transferring to the College of San Mateo.
He played two years at Leland High in San Jose, Calif., for coach Scot Gillis...named as Perfect Game All-American while also playing at the High School All-American Game in New Mexico during his senior season...named All-CCS in his junior and senior seasons...set school-season records in his junior season with a .605 batting average, seven doubles and 29 stolen bases...member of the honor roll all four years (3.96 GPA).
