Morgan Ensberg will serve as an undergraduate coach for the 2011 season for the Trojans.
Ensberg played eight seasons in the major leagues (2000-08) for Houston, San Diego and the New York Yankees (he played at the Triple-A level in 2001). The third baseman played in 731 games in the majors with a .263 career average, 110 home runs and 347 RBI. His best season came in 2005 when he played in the All-Star Game for Houston after batting .283 with 36 home runs and 101 RBI.
Last year, he served as color analyst for ESPN during the 2010 NCAA Tournament for the Fullerton Regional and the NCAA Super Regional in Tempe, Ariz.
He had a .331 career average at USC (1995-98) with 40 home runs and 149 RBI and was a member of two College World Series teams, including the 1998 national championship squad as an infielder. His 40 home runs rank him fifth on USC's all-time list. His best season came in 1998 when he earned All-America third team honors with a .344 average, 21 home runs and 69 RBI.
