2003: Dizard should be a starting pitcher this season for the Trojans.
MIKE GILLESPIE SAYS: "Fraser comes off an elbow injury from last year, but he is healthy now and really motivated to have an outstanding year. He is gifted and blessed with a great arm and his command has improved. He has demonstrated that he will be a good pro prospect down the road."
2002: A left elbow injury halted his 2002 sophomore season after making three brief appearances.
2001: Dizard saw action as a midweek starter and closer in his 2001 freshman season...led the team with seven saves...went 3-3 with a 5.44 ERA...made six starts in 29 appearances (51 1/3 IP, 52 H, 30 BB and 47 SO)...threw 1 1/3 perfect innings to record a save on April 28 against UCLA...combined twice this season on shutouts with Rik Currier on April 21 against No. 1 Stanford and Feb. 18 at UCLA...his performance on Feb. 18 at UCLA gave him his first collegiate win (2 1/3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 SO)...registered a save against No. 10 Arizona State on April 7...struck out a season-high seven batters in 3 1/3 innings on March 6 in a start against UC Riverside...struck out six in three innings on Feb. 21 at Pepperdine.
HIGH SCHOOL: He was a four-year varsity letterwinner at Meadowdale High in Lynnwood, Wash...earned 2000 All-America honors...first team all-area three years...named Washington Gatorade Player of the Year in his senior season...pitched two no-hitters in his senior year, striking out 17 and 18 batters, respectively...also played guard on the basketball team...member of the National Honor Society.
