2009 Cabral made 18 appearances, going 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA...in 18 innings, he allowed 19 hits and 12 earned runs while walking 17 and striking out 18 with a .275 opponents' batting average... threw a scoreless inning of relief, striking out two on May 23 at California...struck out two in a no-hit inning on May 9 at Cal State Northridge...allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits in three innings (which tied his longest stint of the season) with two strikeouts on April 7 vs. Cal State Northridge...gave up two runs on four hits in three innings against No. 3 Arizona State on March 28 and struck out five batters...threw two scoreless innings as part of a 4-0 shutout on Feb. 21 at Long Beach State...threw two-thirds of an inning in his season debut on Feb. 20 against Long Beach State with one walk.

In his freshman season, Cabral had an 0-1 record with a 7.18 ERA in 20 relief appearances...in 26 1/3 innings, he allowed 33 hits with 14 walks, 23 strikeouts and a .327 opponents' batting average...did not allow a run in his first six appearances...made his collegiate debut on Feb. 24 at Florida International and did not allow a hit, walking one and striking out one...threw a no-hit inning on April 4 at No. 23 UCLA, preserving a 6-1 victory...allowed one run on two hits in one inning of work in a 5-4 win on April 8 against No. 16 Cal State Fullerton...during the summer, he played for the Palm Springs Power of the SCCBA and went 1-1 with a 4.85 ERA and five saves in 14 appearances...in 13 innings, he allowed 16 hits with 10 walks, 22 strikeouts and a .281 opponents' batting average.

He was a three-year letterwinner at Don Bosco Tech High in Rosemead, Calif., under coach Jim McDonald...named Camino Real League most valuable player in his senior season and earned all-league first team honors...batted .365 as a senior and had a 1.15 ERA on the mound with 84 strikeouts in 73 innings of work.
