    Flores Sets USC Win Record in Trojans' 8-6 Victory

    TUCSON, Ariz. -- Senior left-hander Randy Flores (8-5) set a Southern California record by winning his 41st career game, leading 15th-ranked USC (32-16, 13-12 in the Six-Pac) to an 8-6 victory over Arizona (29-20, 11-11) here Friday night.

    Flores, who threw his 21st career complete game, scattered 11 hits and allowed five earned runs. He walked just two while striking out 11. Flores broke a tie with Bruce Gardner for the Trojan victory record.

    The win was USC's 11th in a row at Sancet Field and extended Arizona's losing streak to four, its longest of the season.

    USC junior outfielder Jeremy Freitas had a pinch-hit, two-run homer in the sixth and then scored an insurance run on an error in the ninth after doubling.

    Junior designated hitter Tom King went 3-for-4 for the Cats with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Sophomore righty Darrell Hussman (4-6) took the loss for Arizona.

    The two teams return to action Saturday at 7 p.m. at Sancet Field.
