Krawczyk Chalks Up Save Number Eight

FULLERTON, Calif. - Morgan Ensburg hit a 3-run home run and Jack Krawczyk snuffed a Titans' rally for his eighth save of the year to lead USC to an 8-5 non-conference baseball victory over Cal State Fullerton. USC improved to 30-13 while Fullerton fell to 22-16-1.

Ensberg's homer off Tim Baron broke open a close game and capped a 4-run eighth inning for the Trojans. It came after Wes Rachel's bases-loaded squeeze play on a 3-2 pitch.

Mike Weibling, who relieved starter Scott Henderson in the fifth inning got the victory to go 4-0. John Alkire started for the Titans and was victimized by six walks in falling to 0-3. Aaron Roward hit a 2-run home run for the Titans in the second inning to tie the game at 2-2.

Krawczyk entered the game with no outs in the eighth after the Titans had collected four consecutive hits for two runs. He got Scott Seal to hit into a double play and retire pinch hitter Jojo Hernandez on a ground ball.
