    Gorr Leads Trojans Past Sun Devils

    TEMPE, Ariz. - No. 13 Arizona State (21-15, 7-11) lost to No. 12 USC (28-10) 11-7 in front of 3,078 fans at Packard Stadium Saturday.

    The Trojans were led on offense by Robb Gorr who went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Also helping the Trojan effort was right fielder Brad Ticehurst who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored. Left fielder Eric Munson also contributed with a 3-for-5 day with three runs scored and one RBI. Relief pitcher Steve Immel (6-2) picked up the win for USC going four innings, giving up only two hits and two walks and no runs.

    The Devils were led by Dan McKinley who went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Andrew Beinbrink extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a 1-for-4 effort. Also helping was catcher Greg Halcorson who hit his second home run of the season in a 2-for-4 game for the Devils. Starting pitcher Jeff Cermak (4-2) picked up the loss for the Devils going 3 2/3 inning giving up six hits, six runs and two strike outs.

    USC wins the series 3-0.
