Mar. 15, 1997 Arizona Rallies for 6-5 Over USCLOS ANGELES - Trailing 5-3 in the eighth inning, Arizona shortstop Jake Thrower hit a three-run home run off Trojan ace reliever Jack Krawczyk (0-1) and the No. 15 Wildcats held on to defeat No. 6 USC, 6-5, Saturday at Dedeaux Field. USC is now 21-8 overall (6-5 in Pac-10 Southern Division play) and Arizona is 22-11 (6-2). Arizona pitchers limited the Trojans to just 6 hits, including a 2-run home run by senior designated hitter Jason Brown. Freshman righthander Dave Abbott (2-1) picked up the win with an inning of relief work while sophomore lefthander Ryan Moskau pitched the final 2 innings to record his fifth save. For the Wildcats offensively, all their runs came on home runs; Diego Rico hit a solo home run in the fourth inning and Jason Hendricks hit a 2-run home run in the seventh.
