    Baseball Waves Goodbye to Pepperdine

    LOS ANGELES -- Sophomore outfielder Greg Hanoian was was 5-for-5 with a double and 3 RBIs to lead No. 2 USC to a 7-1 victory over Pepperdine Tuesday night at Dedeaux Field.

    With his performance, Hanoian raised his team-leading batting average to .508 and extended his hitting streak to nine games.

    USC is now 17-3 overall, winning nine straight games, while the Waves dropped to 4-10.

    Sophomore righthander Steve Immel went seven innings for the Trojans and limited Pepperdine to one run on four hits with no walks and seven strikeouts to raise his record to 2-1. Sophomore lefthander Dave Reed started for the Waves and took the loss (0-1).
