    New Crop Of Trojans Begin Professional Careers

    Five Trojans from the 2012 USC baseball team have come to terms with major league clubs and will begin their professional careers this summer after reporting to their respective minor league affiliates.

    Andrew Triggs, the Trojans highest draftee (19th round / 583rd overall), will report to the Idaho Falls Chukars, the rookie league affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.

    Martin Viramontes (28th round / 875th overall) is currently working out at the training facility of the Milwaukee Brewers in Arizona before heading to their rookie league team in Helena, Montana.

    Jordan Hershiser (34th round / 1046th overall) has reported to the rookie league team of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Arizona League.

    Matt Foat signed a free-agent contract with the Washington Nationals and was assigned the rookie Gulf Coast League.

    Senior co-captain Brandon Garcia signed a free-agent contract with the Texas Rangers and was assigned to their short season "A" league team in Spokane, WA of the Northwest league.
