When Heritage Hall closed its doors for renovation more than a year ago, coaches, administrators, and athletes scattered throughout campus in waiting. This February, the Trojan Family returned to their home once more to usher in an exciting new era for USC Athletics.

As friends and donors of the Athletic Department arrived for the grand re-opening event, they were greeted by the perfect ambassadors: student-athletes. More than 30 athletes from the Trojan Athletic Senate welcomed guests, thanking them for their support of the department and kicking off a tour of the new building.

"It was an incredible opportunity to meet some of the donors on a personal level and to see the results of their generosity in building," said junior volleyball setter Hayley Crone.

Over the course of the evening, athletes guided visitors through the new locker rooms, the Women of Troy lounge, and the various training facilities. Rowing stand-outs Kajsa Olsson and Lindsay Gibson challenged their guests to a session on the new erg machines, while the women's golf crew demonstrated their smooth swings in the state-of-the-art indoor practice room.

After the tour, attendees enjoyed dinner and a program in the basement of the McKay Center. Senior linebacker Devon Kennard and water polo star Madeline Rosenthal addressed the crowd during the meal, thanking them for their contributions and testifying to the power of the Trojan Spirit.

As the evening concluded, the athletes escorted guests to their vehicle, offering a final bit of gratitude and promising a strong season.

The Trojan Athletic Senate is comprised of two senators from each athletic team who meet bi-weekly throughout the academic year. The committee seeks to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and engage the athlete student-body as representatives of the department.
