Felix Wins 400m Gold Medal At 2015 IAAF T&F World Championships|

BEIJING, CHINA – USC graduate Allyson Felix ran the world-leading time to secure the gold medal in the 400m dash at the 2015 IAAF Track & Field World Championships in Beijing, China today (Aug. 27).
Felix won the women’s 400m final with the fastest time this season of 49.26 to defeat second-place finisher Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas by .41 seconds, despite Miller and the third and fourth-place finishers running personal-bests. Felix reached the finals by posting the fastest semifinals time of 49.89. She advanced out of the preliminary rounds with a time of 50.60.
Also today, Aleec Harris (USC 2013-14) ran 13.29 (+0.0) in the men’s 110m HH semifinals to finish ninth, one spot out of advancing to the finals. Harris had a time of 13.41 (-0.7) to advance out of the preliminary rounds.
On Aug. 26 in the women’s hammer throw preliminary rounds, Eva Orban (USC 2006-09) placed 28th with a throw of 211-10 (64.57m). She had fouls in her other two attempts.
