    USC Adds Transfer Liverpool To Recruiting Class

    USC's track and field team received another commitment for the 2013 team as Iowa transfer and 400m runner Ashley Liverpool of Cincinnati, Ohio signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) it was announced today (Aug. 23) by Director of Track and Field Ron Allice. Last spring the Trojans announced the signings of distance runner Katerina Berdousi, high jumper Errin Baynes, hurdler Emir Bekric, thrower Remy Conatser, pole vaulter Felicia Horvath, thrower Tera Novy and hurdler Jaide Stepter.

    Liverpool will begin classes next week as a junior at USC following her transfer from Iowa after competing there for two seasons in track and field. Liverpool has a personal best of 52.47 in the 400m dash and placed 13th at the 2012 NCAA Championships in the event with a time of 52.81. She placed second in the 400m dash at the 2012 Big Ten Championships with her PR of 52.47 which ranks third on the Iowa all-time list for a female. Her best 200m time of 23.98 ranks 10th all-time for an Iowa female. Liverpool was also a key runner on the Hawkeye's relay teams which posted the ninth-fastest 4x100m and sixth-fastest 4x400m times in school history.

    Liverpool is a 2010 graduate of Walnut Hills HS in Cincinnati, Ohio where she set the school records in the 400m dash and as part of the 4x100m, sprint medley, distance medley, 4x400m and 800m relays. She was a two-time runner-up in the 400m race at the state meet and led her team to league and regional titles her senior season and to the state title in 2008.
