    Collatz Takes Second In Discus Throw At U-23 NACAC Championships

    USC's Alexandra Collatz placed second in the women's discus throw competition at the 2014 NACAC Under-23 International Athletics Championships held in Kamloops, BC, Canada today (Aug. 8). The athletic competition is held between the member associations of the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC).

    Collatz best throw of the day went for 174-6 (53.20m) to place second. USA's other discus thrower Kelsey Card won the event with a best throw of 176-7 (53.82m).

    Collatz won the 2014 Pac-12 discus throw title with a mark of 184-3 (56.17m) and went on to place eighth at the NCAA Championships with a throw of 174-1. Collatz will enter her senior season less than two feet off the USC school discus throw record with a best throw of 187-6 (57.15m).
