    Wyatt And Felix Advance To Finals At Olympic Trials

    Hurdler Reggie Wyatt and 200m runner Allyson Felix advanced to event finals and hurdler Ryan Wilson moved on to a semifinal today (June 29) at the U.S. Track & FIeld Olympic Trials being held in Eugene, Ore. at historic Hayward Field keeping alive their hopes for a chance to represent the United States at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

    The junior Wyatt ran a time of 49.57 in the first heat of the men's 400m IH to place fourth and automatically advance to Sunday's finals which are scheduled for 4:12 p.m. Wyatt is scheduled to run in the second lane. Wyatt's time today was seventh among the qualifiers.

    Felix won her women's 200m semifinal heat with a time of 22.30 to tie for the second-fastest time among the qualifiers with Jeneba Tarmoh, the same person she tied in the 100m finals. Today's times actually when drawn out to the thousandth of a second have Felix ahead, 22.297 to 22.298, but no tie-breaker was needed as each woman advances. The women's 200m finals are tomorrow at 6:50 p.m with Felix in lane six and Tarmoh in lane seven. The fastest qualifier was Sanya Richards-Ross (22.15) and she will be running in lane four.

    In the men's 110m HH, Ryan Wilson (2000-03) advanced to tomorrow's semifinals/finals with a time of 13.33. Wilson placed third in the second heat and seventh overall to advance. Logan Taylor (2005-08) placed sixth in the second heat with a time of 13.72 and 20th overall, missing out on advancing by two spots. Brendan Ames (2009-11) was sixth in the third heat with a time of 13.73 to finish 21st overall.
