Lee Takes Fourth In USATF 200m Final; 13Trojans Make U.S. Junior Or Senior Teams|

EUGENE, ORE. -- Senior BeeJay Lee placed fourth in the men's 200m dash and became the first Trojan to reach the U.S. 100m and 200m finals in the same season since 1981 and alumnus Aleec Harris qualified for the U.S. hurdles team to highlight USC's efforts during the final day of the USATF Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. today (June 28) before 10,746 fans. The four-day competition drew a total attendance of 38,795.
Lee was a hard-charging fourth in the men's 200m final, finishing with a PR of 20.11 (+0.4), just .01 seconds out of the third and final automatic qualifier for USA's World Championship team. Lee's time moved him from fifth to fourth on USC's all-time list in the event. He also became the first USC sprinter to reach the USATF 100m and 200m finals in the same season since James Sanford in 1981. Lee advanced to the finals earlier in the day by placing third in his semifinal heat with a time of 20.43 (-1.3), seventh overall. Lee placed sixth in the 100m finals on June 26.
Junior Alexis Faulknor ran in the women's 200m semifinals and placed seventh in her heat and 14th overall with a time of 23.16 (+1.5). It was just her fifth 200m race of the season and yesterday in her fourth, she ran 22.97 (+0.5), the 10th-fastest ever by a USC woman.
Harris placed fourth in the men's 110m HH final with a time of 13.25 (+0.4). Harris edged Jeffrey Porter by .005 seconds which was important because the winner David Oliver had a bye to the World Championships, which means Harris makes the U.S. team traveling to Beijing. Harris reached the finals by taking second with a time of 13.17 (+2.0) in his semifinals heat, third among the qualifiers. Former Trojan Logan Taylor was fifth in the same semifinals heat and finished ninth overall with a time of 13.69 +2.0).
Also, Trojan alumni Dalilah Muhammad was seventh in the women's 400m IH and Duane Solomon was eighth in the men's 800m finals.
The five Trojans to automatically qualify for USA's team to compete at the 2015 IAAF World Championships to be held in Beijing, China from Aug. 22-30 were: Allyson Felix in the women's 400m (champion), Aleec Harris in the men's 110m HH (fourth), Conor McCullough in the men's hammer throw (second), Bryshon Nellum in the men's 400m (fourth) and Jesse Williams in the men's high jump (third). In addition, BeeJay Lee is eligible in the relay pool by taking sixth in the 100m and fourth in the 200m.
During the three days of the USATF Junior Championships held June 25-27 in Eugene, Ore., USC had seven athletes automatically qualify for USA's team for the 2015 Pan Am Junior Championships to be held in Edmonton, Canada from July 31-Aug. 2. USC athletes qualifying were: Randall Cunningham in the high jump (champion), Kendall Ellis in the women's 400m (champion), Robert Ford in the men's 800m (second), Dior Hall in the women's 100m HH (champion), Deanna Hill in the women's 200m (champion), Marquis Morris in the men's 110m HH (second) and Ky Westbrook in the women's 200m (second). In addition, Westbrook was third in the 100m and Hill fourth in the 100m and are available for the relay pool.
