Collatz Named To Academic All-America Second Team|

USC senior discus thrower Alexandra Collatz was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Second Team for her combined performances athletically and in the classroom, it was announce today (June 25).
The three-time discus All-American Collatz has a 3.51 GPA in Cognitive Science with a Business minor. The senior placed eighth in the discus throw at the 2015 NCAA Track and Field Championships. She also placed fourth in the women’s discus throw with a mark of 179-11 (54.84m) at the 2015 Pac-12 Championships on May 17. She also took eighth in the hammer throw with a best mark that same day of 183-6 (55.94m).
Collatz ranks second on USC’s all-time discus throw list with a personal best of 189-8 (57.82) set at the Cal State L.A. Twilight Meet on April 16 this season. She is one of 18 qualified athletes competing in the women’s discus throw at the USATF Outdoor Championships being held in Eugene, Ore. on June 27.
