    The USC track and field team will be at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships being held at historic Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Ia. from June 8-11. USC has 19 individuals that have qualified to represent the Trojans in 15 different events. USC has two people qualified in the women's 200m, women's 100m HH, women's hammer, men's 400m and men's 110m HH. In all, USC has 10 chances to score in both the men's and women's competitions. For private schools, USC's 9 women's qualifiers are tops and men's 10 are second most.

    WATCH THE MEET LIVE - The 2011 NCAA Track & Field Championships will be streamed for free live on and at Also, the finals on June 11 will be televised live on CBS from 10 a.m. to noon PT. CBS Sports Network (formerly CBS College Sports) will televise action from 4:30-6:30 p.m. PT on June 10.

    TROJANS ADVANCING TO NATIONALS - USC will bring 19 athletes that qualified for NCAA Track & Field Championships in either an individual event or as part of a relay team. The women athletes (9) looking to earn All-America status are: Nia Ali (100m HH, HJ), Lauren Blackburn (100m HH), Jessica Davis (100m, 200m, 4x100m), Loudia Laarman (4x100m), Marissa Minderler (Hammer), Dalilah Muhammad (400m IH), Jenny Ozorai (Hammer), Aareon Payne (200m, 4x100m) and Jenna Puterbaugh (4x100m). USC men (10) that advanced to the championships are: Brendan Ames (110m HH), Aaron Brown (100m), Trey Henderson (Hammer), Joey Hughes (400m, 4x400m), Josh Mance (400m, 4x400m), Blake Shaw (1500m), Oscar Spurlock (110m HH), Cooper Thompson (Javelin), Duane Walker (4x400m) and Reggie Wyatt (400m IH, 4x400m). In addition, Scott DeYoung and Bryshon Nellum will be along as alternates for the men's 4x400m relay team..

    USC AT THE NCAA TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS - The USC men's track and field team has won 26 NCAA outdoor titles, more than double the next-best program Arkansas, which has won 12. USC won a record nine-straight titles from 1935-43. The Trojan women's team won its only team title in 2001. The first men's championship was held in 1921 and the initial women's championship was in 1982. The USC men's team placed fifth in 2010 and has finished in the top 10 in 13 of 16 seasons with Ron Allice leading the Trojans. The women's team did not score last season at the finals, but has finished in the top 10 in 10 of the last 16 seasons.

    LAST TIME AT DRAKE FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIPS - The last time the NCAA T&F Championships were held at Drake Stadium were in 2008 and USC's men placed seventh with 27 points and the women 11th with 21 points. Eva Orban was the only individual champion winning the women's hammer throw title and Corey White placed second in the men's javelin. Nia Ali (who reached the110m HH semifinals before an injury) is the only athlete on the traveling squad who competed at the 2008 NCAA Championships held at Drake Stadium.

    YOUTHFUL USC - Of the 21 athletes including alternates traveling to the NCAA Championships for the Trojans, only four are seniors. The remainder of the squad is freshmen (7), sophomores (2) and juniors (8).

    SPURLOCK AND AMES FORM DAUNTING DUO - Seniors Oscar Spurlock and Brendan Ames will be providing a real hurdle for anyone seeking the NCAA men's 110m hurdles title this season. The pair currently ranks third and fourth nationally, with Spurlock posting a 13.33 time to win at Mt. SAC on April 16 and Ames a 13.39 result in the semifinals at the Pac-10 Championships on May 13. Spurlock's 13.33 tied the USC school record of Mark Crear and Ames' 13.39 at the Pac-10 Championships broke the meet record of 13.43 set by Greg Foster in 1980. Ames was a 2011 NCAA Indoor All-American in the hurdles in February. Spurlock placed fourth at the 2010 NCAA outdoor championships to earn All-America honors.
