    Stepter Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

    Senior Jaide Stepter was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 8 team it was announced today (May 26). The athletes are selected for their combined success in the classroom and athletically.

    Stepter graduated with a degree in Communications and a minor in Animation and Digital Arts earlier this month and today begins competing in the 400m IH and Saturday in the 4x400m relay at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds with a chance to advance to the NCAA Championships. She was an All-American in the 400m IH and the 4x400m relay in 2015.

    Stepter had a 4.0 GPA in the Fall and carried a 3.84 GPA into her final semester. She was named the 2016 Pac-12 Track and Field Women’s Student-Athlete of the Year earlier this month.

    Stepter is a three-time Pac-12 400m IH champion and has a best 400m IH this season of 55.22 which ranks fourth among college athletes and second on USC’s all-time list. Stepter also set the USC outdoor 400m record this season with a time of 50.91 which ranks fourth in the country. During the indoor season, Stepter set the USC indoor 400m record with a time of 52.22 to finish sixth at the NCAA Championships.

    Stepter has also been a key member on USC’s All-America 4x400m relay which has run 3:29.73 which is currently seventh among college teams. Last season, the USC 4x400m relay team set the school indoor and outdoor records and finished second at the NCAA Championships.
