    USC To Battle For Pac-12 T&F Titles This Weekend At UCLA

    The No. 2-ranked USC women's team and the No. 5-ranked men's team will be competing at the 2015 Pac-12 Track & Field Championships hosted by UCLA on May 16-17. The action begins on May 16 at 10 a.m. with the men's hammer throw. Both the USC women's and men's teams finished second at the 2014 Pac-12 Championships. The 2015 Pac-12 T&F Championships will be televised on a tape-delayed basis and broadcast on the Pac-12 Network on May 24 (9 a.m & 6 p.m. PT), May 25 (3 a.m. PT) and May 26 (9 p.m. PT). The play-by-play announcer will be Paul Sunderland and the analysts will be Tom Feuer, Allyson Felix and Jill Savage.

    MULTI-EVENTS GETS PAC-12s STARTED - Sophomore Amalie Iuel finished third in the heptathlon and Jemal Williams 12th in the decathlon at the 2015 Pac-12 Multi-Events Championships hosted by UCLA from May 9-10. Iuel's two-day total of 5610 points moved her into fourth place on USC's all-time heptathlon list. During the two-day competition, Iuel set five personal bests in the seven events to better her previous heptathlon total of 5378 by 232 points to vault her from seventh to fourth on USC's all-time list. Her point total of 5610 moves her into 16th place on the NCAA descending order list. Iuel earned the Trojans six points in the team competition, so USC enters this week's action in third place with 20 events remaining. The men's team did not score in the multi-events.

    USC AT THE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS - The USC men's team has won 10 Pac-12 team titles and finished second last season with 99 points. USC's women's team has captured one team title (1996) and last season placed second with 145 points. The last USC men's team title came in 2006, but the Trojans have scored 99 or more points in 15 of the last 18 seasons. The USC women's team has finished fourth or higher in 23 of the 28 seasons of the women's competition. The Women of Troy have scored 99 or more points in 15 of the last 19 meets.

    TROJAN TIDBITS AT THE PAC-12s - Since 1960, USC's men's team has won 233 event titles, 43 more than the next team (UCLA-190). The most events won in a single meet was 11 by USC in 1961. USC's men have won the most titles in 10 of the 21 events. A USC man has won the 100m and 200m dashes 17 times, including eight of the last 10 100m titles and eight of the last 12 200m titles. USC's women's team has won the second-most individual events (95) and has the most wins in five of the 21 events. A USC woman has won the 100m and 200m dashes 11 times. USC has won the women's 4x100m relay 10 times since 2000 and 13 times overall, including with a meet-record time of 43.21 in 2014.

    USC WON THE MOST TITLES AT THE 2014 PAC-12s - The Trojans combined to win 12 different events at the 2014 Pac-12 Championships, more than any other team. The victorious Oregon squads won nine events and no other school won more than four events. USC's men won five events (100m, 200m, 110m HH, 4x100m & Hammer), while the women's team won seven (100m HH, 400m IH, 4x100m, 4x400m, TJ, Discus & Heptathlon). Individual conference champions returning this season are Jaide Stepter (400m IH), Melia Cox (TJ), Alexandra Collatz (Discus) and Amalie Iuel (Heptathlon, 3rd in 2015).

    USC RANKING AMONG THE BEST - There are currently 37 NCAA top 30 marks posted by Trojan athletes this outdoor season: Men (13): Randall Cunningham (HJ - T-4th), Andre De Grasse (100m - 1st, 200m - 1st), Adoree' Jackson (LJ - T-18th), BeeJay Lee (100m - 4th, 200m - T-4th), Conor McCullough (HT - 1st), D.J. Morgan (110m HH - 29th), Marquis Morris (110m HH - 23rd), Nick Ponzio (Shot - 20th), Just'N Thymes (200m - T-7th) and the 4x100m relay (3rd, 22nd). Women (24): Gabriella Cantrell (200m - 28th), Alexandra Collatz (Discus - 4th), Destinee Brown (100m - T-25th), Melia Cox (100m HH - T-22nd), Kendall Ellis (400m - 23rd), Alexis Faulknor (100m - T-6th, LJ - T-27th), Tynia Gaither (100m - T-15th, 200m - 9th), Dior Hall (100m HH - 5th), Deanna Hill (100m - T-28th, 200m - 4th), Amalie Iuel (400m IH - 3rd, Heptathlon - 16th), Vanessa Jones (400m - 25th), Tera Novy (Discus - 2nd), Jenny Ozorai (Hammer - 27th), Jaide Stepter (400m IH - 2nd), Ky Westbrook (100m - 5th, 200m - 19th), the 4x100m relay (5th, T-10th) and the 4x400m relay (10th, 19th).

    TOP 10 TROJANS - USC has eight spring semester teams ranked in the top 10 in the country: Sand Volleyball (1, NCAA Champions), W-Golf (1), W-Tennis (1), W-Track (2), W-Water Polo (3rd at NCAA Championships), M-Track (5), M-Tennis (7), M-Volleyball (7).

    BATTLE BREWING IN THE WOMEN'S SPRINTS - The women's teams for USC and Oregon currently have posted most of the top marks among conference runners in the sprints. A Trojan or a Duck has posted the the top seven times in the 100m dash and 11 of the top 12 in the 200m race. They also own the top two 4x100m relay times by nearly a second and a half among Pac-12 teams this season.

    TROJANS' BIG THREE - Currently USC sprinters Andre De Grasse, BeeJay Lee and Just'N Thymes rank first, second and third respectively among Pac-12 runners in the 200m dash and first, second and fifth respectively in the 100m dash. They also team with Bryan Mercado to form the conference's fastest 4x100m relay team.

    UP NEXT - The Trojans will compete at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds in Austin, Texas from May 28-30.
