Amalie Iuel, BeeJay Lee and Tera Novy all picked up Pac-12 Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors following a big weekend at the Trojan Invitational it was announced today (March 24).

Iuel placed second in the women's 400m IH at the Trojan Invitational with a PR of nearly two seconds of 56.32. The sophomore nearly ran down 2012 silver medalist Lashinda Demus (56.23) at the wire. That time is more than two seconds faster than any collegian has run in the early season and would have placed her fourth in the 2014 NCAA final. Iuel's time also moved her from 9th to 4th on USC's all-time list in the event.

Iuel, the 2014 Pac-12 heptathlon champion, also placed third in the 100m HH with a PR of 14.00 (-0.3), beating her previous best time by .36 seconds. Iuel also competed in the long jump and placed ninth with a best jump of 17-8.00 and ran a leg on USC's 4x400m relay "B" team which took third with a time of 3:41.66.

The senior Lee won the men's 200m dash at the Trojan Invitational with a PR of 20.51 (+1.3) which is the NCAA-leading time. That time would have been good for sixth place at the 2014 NCAA Championships. Lee also ran the first leg for USC's winning 4x100m relay team which posted a time of 39.74, the third-fastest time in the country this season.

Novy, a junior, set PRs and USC all-time top-10 marks in both the discus throw and the shot put this weekend at the Trojan Invitational. On Friday, Novy won the discus throw competition with a PR of 186-0 (56.69m) which is the second-farthest throw in the country this season. That throw also bettered her third-place standing on USC's all-time list in the event and moves her within three and a half feet of the school record. Novy came back on Saturday to place second in the women's shot put with a PR of 50-0.50 (15.25m). Novy now ranks seventh on USC's all-time women's shot put list.
