Lauren Chambers had the top female hammer throw and Trey Henderson the best collegiate male hammer mark at the Ben Brown Invitational hammer competition held in Fullerton, Calif. today. The rest of the USC track and field team will be competing all Saturday at the Ben Brown Invitational hosted by CS Fullerton.

The freshman Chambers won the women's competition with a throw of 201-2 (61.33m) which already puts her into sixth-place on USC's all-time hammer list, sitting just ahead of Leslie Coons (198-7) and just behind Julia Rozenfeld (203-1).

She was not the only Trojan female to shine as Tamara Baumann placed second with a PR of 178-2 (54.30m), while Marissa Minderler took fourth with a throw of 170-2 (51.88m) and Kathryn Daniels placed sixth with a PR of 155-2 (47.31).

Not to be outdone, Trey Henderson posted the top male throw with a college hammer of 203-0 (61.88m). Eric Stein also competed and took 19th with a throw of 145-7 (44.38m).

The Trojans hope for better weather on Saturday than they endured last week at Claremont, which will allow more athletes to compete.

Among the Trojans expected to compete this week are hurdlers Shalina Clarke, Dalilah Muhammad, Brendan Ames, Putchong Dispanurat, Thomas Parides, Oscar Spurlock and Duane Walker. Also running the 400m on Saturday will be Alexis Brown, Myra Hasson, Elan Hilaire, Caroline Lutzky, Tyler Ellis, Joseph Laetsch, Dijon Morrisette, Reggie Wyatt and Michael Zuletta.
