The USC track and field team will be competing indoors this week at two meets in preparation for the fast-approaching postseason. The majority of the team will be at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational meet held at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, N.M. on Feb. 13 & 14, while four men's middle distance runners will compete on Feb. 14 at the Husky Classic at Dempsey Indoor Track in Seattle, Wash.

The Trojans are scheduled to take 25 athletes to New Mexico to face a very strong field of 37 teams, including defending NCAA Indoor Champion Oregon and six other conference teams. USC women's team members scheduled to compete at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational are: Destinee Brown, Gabriella Cantrell, Erica Capellino, Melia Cox, Kendall Ellis, Alexis Faulknor, Tynia Gaither, Dior Hall, Deanna Hill, Amalie Iuel, Vanessa Jones, Reika Kijima, Cameron Pettigrew, Jaide Stepter and Ky Westbrook. Men's team members set to represent USC are Randall Cunningham, Andre De Grasse, Bryan Jordan, Michael Krone, BeeJay Lee, Ricky Morgan, Marquis Morris, Davonte Stewart, Just'N Thymes and Allen Williams.

The four Trojans competing at the Husky Classic will be Myles Andrews, Robert Ford, David Manahan and Jordon Wallin. These athletes will all run the 800m race and then team-up in the 4x400m relay. The Dempsey Indoor track is conducive to good times in the distance races, so sending these four runners to Seattle gives them the best chance to improve their times on a fast track and compete against top-notch distance talent.

The top 16 athletes (and top 12 relay teams) on the NCAA descending order list will qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships to be held in Fayetteville, Ark on March 13-14, so now is the time to start securing berths at the championships. Currently, USC has three men (De Grasse - 60m, 200m, Lee - 200m, McCullough - WT) and six women and a relay team ranking in the top 20 (Cantrell - 200m, Cox - 60m HH, Faulknor - 60m, Gaither - 200m, Hall - 60m HH, Ky Westbrook - 60m, 200m, 4x400m relay).
