    USC Opens T&F Indoor Season At UW Preview Saturday

    Tynia Gaither and the Trojans begin their indoor season at the UW Indoor Preview Meet in Seattle, Wash. on Saturday. Gaither earned indoor All-America honors in the 200m last season.

    The USC track and field team will open the 2015 indoor season by sending 25 athletes to compete at the UW Indoor Preview in Seattle, Wash. on Jan. 17.

    In the second season under the guidance of Director of Track & Field Caryl Smith Gilbert, the Trojans will be ramping up their indoor participation, including competing in the throws for the first time since the 2011 season.

    Of the 25 USC athletes making the trip, 14 will be competing as a Trojan for the first time. The Trojans expected to compete in the first meet will be:

    Women: Destinee Brown (So.-Transfer from CSUF), Gabriella Cantrell (Fr.), Erica Capellino (Sr.), Melia Cox (Sr.), Kendall Ellis (Fr.), Alexis Faulknor (Jr.), Tynia Gaither (RS-Jr.), Deanna Hill (Fr.), Vanessa Jones (Sr.), Tera Novy (Jr.), Madisen Richards (Fr.), Tanya Sapa (So.), Jaide Stepter (Jr.) and Ky Westbrook (Fr.).

     

     

    Men: Myles Andrews (Sr.), Randall Cunningham (Fr.), Andre De Grasse (Jr. - Transfer from Coffeyville CC), Robert Ford (Fr.), Michael Krone (Sr. - Transfer from Duke), BeeJay Lee (Sr.), Ricky Morgan (Fr.), Marquis Morris (Fr.), Nick Ponzio (RS-Fr. - Transfer from Florida), Dominic Smallwood (Fr.) and Allen Williams (Sr.).

    The Trojans had a very successful 2014 indoor season with the women's team winning the MPSF Championship and nine USC athletes earning first-team All-America honors.
