    Trojans Get Work In At Triton Invitational

    Jenny Ozorai in the hammer throw and Tera Novy in the discus throw both had marks over 190 feet to lead the Trojans at the Triton Invitational in La Jolla, Calif. today (April 24).

    Ozorai got things started with a seventh place finish in the women's Invitational hammer throw, posting a mark of 190-5 (58.03m). In a field that featured some of the top professional and collegiate throwers, the redshirt senior reached the finals with her third throw of 190-5, but did not improve in the final three attempts. Redshirt sophomore Erika Peyton placed 45th with a throw of 155-10 (47.30m) and sophomore Tanya Sapa placed 60th with a best throw of 128-8 (39.21m). Former USC thrower Jade Grace placed fifth with a throw of 203-9 (62.10m).

    The junior Novy placed 10th in the Invitational discus throw with a best mark of 190-4 (58.02m). Novy has now thrown 189 feet or better at three meets in the last week and a half. Taking 16th was senior Alexandra Collatz with a best mark of 176-8 (53.84m).
